All Through the Year

I always wanted to write a calendar book, and once I’d worked with Anna on Little Cat and the Big Red Bus, I knew she was the person to illustrate it.  At first I thought I should include lots of different places and families so that the seasons and details would be relevant to everyone, but that felt a bit disjointed and didn’t flow, so then I made it just one family and hopefully their experiences are universal enough to resonate with others.  This book is published in France, and in the French edition they had to mix up the pictures so that the seasons worked for the northern hemisphere!  They start in January with Anna’s picture from the July page!
